In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Flying Kites by Chen Qikuan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,434.52), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Qikuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mood in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 161,808.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flying Kites von Chen Qikuan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 16.434,52) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Qikuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mood im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 161.808,98).
