Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Seasonal Flowers by Chen Shizeng was worth HKD 325,000.00 (€ 37,110.63) to a buyer in May 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Shizeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers, which sold at auction in September 2015 for USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,185.81).

Die Arbeit Seasonal Flowers von Chen Shizeng war einem Käufer im Mai 2017 HKD 325.000,00 (€ 37.110,63) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Shizeng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers beobachtet, die im September 2015 für USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.185,81) versteigert wurde.
