Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work German infantry skirmishing; and The retreat by Christian Sell was sold in the British & Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2001. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 646.25 (€ 1,041.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christian Sell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gefechtsszene aus dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg, which sold at auction in September 2019 for EUR 3,720.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit German infantry skirmishing; and The retreat von Christian Sell wurde im April 2001 in der Auktion British & Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 646,25 (€ 1.041,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Christian Sell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gefechtsszene aus dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg beobachtet, die im September 2019 für EUR 3.720,00 versteigert wurde.
