Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Sheep resting in a landscape by Claude Cardon for GBP 293.75 (€ 474.00). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Cardon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calves and poultry by a farm in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,757.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sheep resting in a landscape von Claude Cardon für GBP 293,75 (€ 474,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Cardon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calves and poultry by a farm im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.170,00 (€ 10.757,64).
