Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th CenturyEuropean Art, which included the work Huizen van Bossu te Hoorn: a busy day at the Slapershaven by Cornelis Springer. The price achieved of EUR 420,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 380,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Springer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of The Westerstraat In Enkhuizen In Summer, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 1,104,000.00.
