This artwork by Cornelis Troost achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2004. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work A study for Molière's 'Le Malade Imaginaire' sold for GBP 43,020.00 (€ 61,917.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Troost have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 639,000.00 (€ 557,883.71).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Troost erzielte im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES wurde die Arbeit A study for Molière's 'Le Malade Imaginaire' für GBP 43.020,00 (€ 61.917,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Troost auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 639.000,00 (€ 557.883,71).
