Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape by David Rankin was sold in the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2002. The price achieved of AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,696.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Rankin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ridge-Mungo, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,882.67).

Die Arbeit Landscape von David Rankin wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.400,00 (€ 5.696,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Rankin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ridge-Mungo beobachtet, die im August 2003 für AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.882,67) versteigert wurde.
