Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2012 Christies in London held the auction Hockney on Paper, which included the work Caribbean Tea Time, from Moving Focus series (Tokyo 288) by David Hockney. It changed hands for a price of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 65,969.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
