the complete portfolio of twenty chromogenic prints, 1976, on Kodak photographic paper, with title, list of plates and justification, stamp numbered 51 on the justification, each initialed and numbered 51/80 in ink (there were also 20 sets in Roman numerals), published by Sonnabend Editions, New York, 1976, all in very good condition, mounted in cream card mounts, within the original cloth-covered portfolio box in cloth with title on front (minor wear)

Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,388.00) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Die Arbeit Twenty Photographic Pictures by David Hockney von David Hockney kam im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.388,00) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen.
