Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Now Evening Auction, which included the work Woldgate Woods, Winter, 2010 by David Hockney. The price achieved of GBP 922,500.00 (€ 1,093,727.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Now Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woldgate Woods, Winter, 2010 von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 922.500,00 (€ 1.093.727,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
