This artwork by Domenico Piola achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2000. In the OLD MASTER DRAWINGS - CSK auction, the work The Crucifixion in a cartouche, surrounded by putti bearing symbols of the Passion: design for a frontispiece sold for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,615.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Piola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alexandre et la famille de Darius in June last year with an auction result of EUR 1,842,000.00.

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alexandre et la famille de Darius im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.842.000,00.
