The work Conquest by Edmund Blair Leighton was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2013. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 104,500.00 (€ 122,176.82), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edmund Blair Leighton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work God Speed in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 707,750.00 (€ 1,121,870.87).

Die Arbeit Conquest von Edmund Blair Leighton wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 104.500,00 (€ 122.176,82) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Blair Leighton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit God Speed im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 707.750,00 (€ 1.121.870,87).
