Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work To Arms! 'Sweet Bridal Hymn, That Issuing Through The Porch Is Rudely Challenged With The Cry 'To Arms'' by Edmund Blair Leighton. The price achieved of USD 485,000.00 (€ 356,775.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Blair Leighton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work God Speed, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 707,750.00 (€ 1,121,870.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit To Arms! 'Sweet Bridal Hymn, That Issuing Through The Porch Is Rudely Challenged With The Cry 'To Arms'' von Edmund Blair Leighton zur Versteigerung kam.
