This artwork by Édouard Cortès achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. In the European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures auction, the work Arc De Triomphe And Avenue Friedland sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 34,618.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Édouard Cortès - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris, which sold at auction in November 2012 for EUR 73,000.00.

In der Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures wurde die Arbeit Arc De Triomphe And Avenue Friedland für USD 40.320,00 (€ 34.618,36) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Édouard Cortès mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boulevard in Montmartre, Paris beobachtet, die im November 2012 für EUR 73.000,00 versteigert wurde.
