Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction The Jeanson Collection, which included the work L'Icterie à col dor et le Pyranga du Canada - Icteria auricollis et Pyranga rubra by Edouard Traviès. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,166.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edouard Traviès have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Studies of birds: Livingstone's tauraco, Red-winged crested cuckoo, and Common cuckoo; Royal flycatcher and Scarlet-spectacled wattle-eye; Common redstart, Nightingale, and Black redstart; Helmeted guinea fowl, Little bustard, and Great bustard; Red-bille in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 3

Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Jeanson Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Icterie à col dor et le Pyranga du Canada - Icteria auricollis et Pyranga rubra von Edouard Traviès zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.166,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edouard Traviès auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Studies of birds: Livingstone's tauraco, Red-winged crested cuckoo, and Common cuckoo; Royal flycatcher and Scarlet-spectacled wattle-eye; Common redstart, Nightingale, and Black redstart; Helmeted guinea fowl, Little bustard, and Great bustard; Red-bille im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.109,32).
