Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beauté Algérienne by Edouard Verschaffelt was sold in the Orientalism auction at Artcurial in June 2012. The price achieved of EUR 23,167.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edouard Verschaffelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scène Familiale, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 72,250.00.

Die Arbeit Beauté Algérienne von Edouard Verschaffelt wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion Orientalism bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 23.167,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edouard Verschaffelt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scène Familiale beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für EUR 72.250,00 versteigert wurde.
