In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Pictures, which included the work Composition With Black Square by Eduard Steinberg. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,639.85), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eduard Steinberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Russian Composition 12, 1998 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition With Black Square von Eduard Steinberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.639,85) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eduard Steinberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Russian Composition 12, 1998 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
