Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2004 Christies in London held the auction PIPEWELL HALL, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AND BOSTOCK HOUSE, CHESHIRE, which included the work Deep In Thought by Edward Robert Smythe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 239.00 (€ 214.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Robert Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Horse Fair in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,234.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion PIPEWELL HALL, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AND BOSTOCK HOUSE, CHESHIRE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deep In Thought von Edward Robert Smythe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 239,00 (€ 214,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Robert Smythe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Horse Fair im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 39.234,49).
