In June 2008 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work A square in Venice by Edward Seago. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,900.21), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Seago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Household Cavalry in the Mall in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 196,213.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit A square in Venice von Edward Seago zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.900,21) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Seago erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Household Cavalry in the Mall im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 196.213,48).
