Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rathhaus Perchtoldsdorf bei Wien: figures on a square by a townhall, Austria by Elias Pieter van Bommel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,400.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Elias Pieter van Bommel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch a Busy Harbour With Merchants Unloading Their Goods in December 2010 with an auction result of EUR 63,150.00.
