Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Martin Creed, 1999 by Elizabeth Peyton was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 655,200.00 (€ 776,813.34) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Peyton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Liam + Noel in the 70’s, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 2,070,000.00 (€ 1,833,968.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Martin Creed, 1999 von Elizabeth Peyton kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 655.200,00 (€ 776.813,34) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Peyton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Liam + Noel in the 70’s beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 2.070.000,00 (€ 1.833.968,28) versteigert wurde.
