The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,195.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Octave Guillonnet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A siesta in the shade, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 21,342.22).
