Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Regards sur l'Orient - Orientalist Paintings and Islamic Art, which included the work Etude De Tête D'Hommeetienne Dinet ; Study For The Central Figure In The Painting: The Procession (Al Massira) ; Signed Lower Left ; Gouache And Pencil On Paper by Etienne Dinet. The price achieved of EUR 9,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Etienne Dinet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le fils d'un saint M'rabeth – 1900 in December 2019 with an auction result of MAD 13,119,000.00 (€ 1,250,318.87).

Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Regards sur l'Orient - Orientalist Paintings and Islamic Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Etude De Tête D'Hommeetienne Dinet ; Study For The Central Figure In The Painting: The Procession (Al Massira) ; Signed Lower Left ; Gouache And Pencil On Paper von Etienne Dinet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 9.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Etienne Dinet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le fils d'un saint M'rabeth – 1900 im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von MAD 13.119.000,00 (€ 1.250.318,87).
