Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nour Al-Ahmar Wa Naruhu (Red light and its fire) by Fateh Moudarres was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 180,000.00 – 240,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 170,500.00 (€ 122,248.51). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fateh Moudarres - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,540.81).
