In June 2000 Christies in London held the auction Important British Art, which included the work The Bromley Children by Ford Madox Brown. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 49,350.00 (€ 78,225.83), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ford Madox Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Last Of England, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 206,850.00 (€ 297,552.61).

Im Juni 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bromley Children von Ford Madox Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 49.350,00 (€ 78.225,83) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ford Madox Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Last Of England beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 206.850,00 (€ 297.552,61) versteigert wurde.
