Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Beach by Frances Hodgkins was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists auction at Christies in London in December 2007. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,985.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frances Hodgkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christmas Tree in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 193,291.94).
