Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A herd of cattle by a river by Francesco Lojacono was sold in the Fine Nineteeth Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,637.50 (€ 9,000.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Lojacono achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian view Of Acquasanta, Palermo in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 82,850.00 (€ 96,718.89).
