The work Aida by Francesco Paolo Michetti was sold in the 19th Century Paintings auction at Christies in New York in May 2000. The »bidding war« ended at USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,115.78), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francesco Paolo Michetti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bimba Al Sole (1870-1875) in June 2001 with an auction result of EUR 147,000.00.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 14.100,00 (€ 15.115,78) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Paolo Michetti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bimba Al Sole (1870-1875) im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 147.000,00.
