Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Umberto I A Cavallo by Francesco Paolo Michetti was auctioned at Sothebys in Milan in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 32,000.00 – 42,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 27,150.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco Paolo Michetti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bimba Al Sole (1870-1875) in June 2001 with an auction result of EUR 147,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Umberto I A Cavallo von Francesco Paolo Michetti im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in Mailand versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 32.000,00 – 42.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 27.150,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Paolo Michetti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bimba Al Sole (1870-1875) im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 147.000,00.
