Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis Cadell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2021. In the The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection auction, the work Carnations sold for GBP 499,000.00 (€ 586,196.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Cadell; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Reflection sold at auction in June last year with the realized price of GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,094,916.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Cadell erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection wurde die Arbeit Carnations für GBP 499.000,00 (€ 586.196,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Francis Cadell; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Reflection im Juni letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.094.916,90).
