Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Francis Cadell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2021. In the The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection auction, the work Tree and Houses on the French Riviera sold for GBP 201,600.00 (€ 236,828.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Cadell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reflection in June last year with an auction result of GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,094,916.90).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Cadell erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection wurde die Arbeit Tree and Houses on the French Riviera für GBP 201.600,00 (€ 236.828,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Cadell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reflection im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.094.916,90).
