The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 57,360.00 (€ 88,722.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Francis Danby have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2014 the work A view of the Avon at Clifton, Bristol was auctioned for GBP 110,500.00 (€ 139,375.24).
