Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work The Trysting Place by Francis Sydney Muschamp. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,262.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Sydney Muschamp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A game of tennis, which sold at auction in November 2009 for GBP 7,750.00 (€ 8,481.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Trysting Place von Francis Sydney Muschamp zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.262,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Sydney Muschamp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A game of tennis beobachtet, die im November 2009 für GBP 7.750,00 (€ 8.481,38) versteigert wurde.
