Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Priest at Altar) by Francis Newton Souza was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 75,600.00 (€ 64,378.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Newton Souza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birth in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 4,085,000.00 (€ 3,659,738.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Priest at Altar) von Francis Newton Souza wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 75.600,00 (€ 64.378,78) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Newton Souza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birth im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.085.000,00 (€ 3.659.738,40).
