This artwork by François Bonvin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2011. In the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction, the work A Man Sitting At A Table sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,780.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Bonvin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'écolier in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 203,504.06).
