Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Blacksmith by François Bonvin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2010. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,068.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Bonvin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'écolier in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 203,504.06).

Die Arbeit The Blacksmith von François Bonvin kam im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.068,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Bonvin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'écolier im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 203.504,06).
