In June 2020 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Important Design, which included the work Lapin À Vent De Tourtour by François-Xavier Lalanne. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,932,500.00 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by François-Xavier Lalanne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'RHINOCRÉTAIRE I', PIÈCE UNIQUE, 1964 in October this year with an auction result of EUR 18,335,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Important Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lapin À Vent De Tourtour von François-Xavier Lalanne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.932.500,00 und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François-Xavier Lalanne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'RHINOCRÉTAIRE I', PIÈCE UNIQUE, 1964 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.335.000,00.
