Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing spectacles by Franz Krüger was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2006. The price achieved of USD 1,200.00 (€ 987.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Krüger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ludwig Adolf Friedrich Fürst zu Sayn-Wittgenstein. 1836. in March 2008 with an auction result of CHF 96,000.00 (€ 61,220.12).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing spectacles von Franz Krüger wurde im Januar 2006 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.200,00 (€ 987,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Krüger erzielen.
