Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Garry Winogrand could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MoMA: Garry Winogrand auction, the work Central Park Zoo, New York, 1962 changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,822.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Winogrand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Women Are Beautiful in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 91,862.48).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Garry Winogrand konnte im Januar 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion MoMA: Garry Winogrand wechselte die Arbeit Central Park Zoo, New York, 1962 für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.822,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Winogrand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Women Are Beautiful im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 91.862,48).
