In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Peacocks LF 315/LF 198 by Gaston Lachaise. The »bidding war« ended at USD 523,500.00 (€ 494,895.07), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gaston Lachaise have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 3,732,500.00 (€ 3,296,387.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Peacocks LF 315/LF 198 von Gaston Lachaise zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 523.500,00 (€ 494.895,07) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaston Lachaise auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standing Woman [LF 92|AID104142] im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.732.500,00 (€ 3.296.387,88).
