Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Christian illuminated by a ray from heaven by George Cruikshank. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 223.25 (€ 365.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cruikshank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The Highland Whisky-Still' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 7,409.00 (€ 10,816.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christian illuminated by a ray from heaven von George Cruikshank zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 223,25 (€ 365,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Cruikshank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for 'The Highland Whisky-Still' im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.409,00 (€ 10.816,91).
