Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing boats and other shipping on the Mersey by George Stainton was sold in the Maritime and Naval Battles auction at Christies in London in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,344.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Stainton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blyth, Northumberland in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,819.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fishing boats and other shipping on the Mersey von George Stainton wurde im November 2000 in der Auktion Maritime and Naval Battles bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.344,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
