Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Through the Trees, Monhegan Island, Maine by George Wesley Bellows. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 162,500.00 (€ 143,970.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wesley Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Swell in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,893,000.00 (€ 5,728,282.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Through the Trees, Monhegan Island, Maine von George Wesley Bellows zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 162.500,00 (€ 143.970,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Wesley Bellows erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Swell im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.893.000,00 (€ 5.728.282,17).
