Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European & Orientalist Art, which included the work In The Harem by Georges Rochegrosse. The price achieved of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 50,923.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Rochegrosse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French The Chattering Birds, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 134,442.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European & Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Harem von Georges Rochegrosse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 50.923,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Rochegrosse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French The Chattering Birds beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 170.500,00 (€ 134.442,52) versteigert wurde.
