Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le hamac or Un après-midi à Barbizon by Georges Rochegrosse was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 40,102.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Rochegrosse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French The Chattering Birds, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 134,442.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le hamac or Un après-midi à Barbizon von Georges Rochegrosse kam im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 33.750,00 (€ 40.102,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Rochegrosse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French The Chattering Birds beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 170.500,00 (€ 134.442,52) versteigert wurde.
