Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gerald Cooper could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work A Pear And Sunflowers On A Stone Ledge changed hands for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,751.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tulips, camellias and narcissi; and Tulips, viburnam and a peony in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).
