Auction result well in line with expectations

The work "Her Maggiesty" by Gerald Scarfe was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,386.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Scarfe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Churchill In The House Of Commons in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 141,017.67).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit "Her Maggiesty" von Gerald Scarfe kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.386,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Scarfe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Churchill In The House Of Commons im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 118.750,00 (€ 141.017,67).
