It achieved a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,207.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Géza Vastagh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion and a Lioness in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).

Die Arbeit Hungarian Lounging Leopards von Géza Vastagh kam im November 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.207,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69).
