Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Five Plates from: Scherzi di Fantasia by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,472.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna Of The Rosary With Angels in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 17,349,000.00 (€ 15,639,592.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Five Plates from: Scherzi di Fantasia von Giovanni Battista Tiepolo im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.472,96) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Tiepolo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madonna Of The Rosary With Angels im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.349.000,00 (€ 15.639.592,54).
