Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction Important Old Master and British Pictures (Evening Sale), which included the work The Story of Lionora de' Bardi and Ippolito Buondelmonte: panel from a cassone by Giovanni di ser Giovanni Guidi. The price achieved of GBP 180,000.00 (€ 267,341.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giovanni di ser Giovanni Guidi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Story of Coriolanus: a cassone front in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 1,562,500.00 (€ 1,365,582.94).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 180.000,00 (€ 267.341,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden.
